Jaz Flores has been DJing since junior high, starting out playing school dances and high school house parties. He knew early on he wasn't going to be a dancer, but he was fascinated by dance music and DJing itself, and fell in love with the interaction between DJ and dancer.
Early in his career he recorded under the name DJ Jaz, releasing through Jump Recordings, a label he co-founded with friend and collaborator Chris Jackson. He was featured on several of the label's first releases, helping shape its early sound and identity. Jump Recordings has since grown beyond its founding lineup and is now run by Arturo Garces and Chris Jackson, carrying the label forward while Jaz continues building his own path as a DJ and producer.
After releasing music, producing became a passion of its own.
For a long stretch, a professional career took priority and pulled him away from the scene. But the pull of music never let up, and he kept working on his craft as a producer through it, waiting for the right time to bring it back to the front.
Today, performing as Jaz Flores, he brings all of that passion and experience to every set, and has multiple tracks in the works, ready for release.
